What We Collect

When you use ParentQA, we collect your first and last name, email address, mobile number, participant type, school affiliation or school keyword, and grade-level information you provide.

SMS Consent Information

SMS consent is voluntary and is collected through the ParentQA.com opt-in form. The SMS consent checkbox is unchecked by default. We record information related to the consent, including whether consent was given, the date and time of the submission, the participant type, applicable school, and the version of the consent language presented.

Mobile opt-in information and consent will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

How We Use Your Information

We use participant information to operate ParentQA, identify the appropriate school and participants, establish authorized school-specific conversations, deliver SMS messages, provide support, maintain records, and help participating schools administer their ParentQA program. For prospective parents, contact information may also be shared with the participating school so its admissions or enrollment staff can follow up regarding the prospective parent's interest in the school.

How ParentQA Messages Work

ParentQA acts as the messaging intermediary for each school-specific conversation. Participant replies are sent to a ParentQA telephone number and received by the ParentQA application.

The ParentQA application receives, records, and relays messages to the other authorized participants in that conversation. Participants' personal mobile numbers are not disclosed to one another through this process.

Conversation Records

ParentQA stores messages and related conversation information as part of operating the service. Authorized administrators for the participating school may have access to conversation records, transcripts, and participant information associated with their school.

Who May Participate

ParentQA is intended for adults. Participants may include prospective parents, current parents, and authorized school administrators or enrollment officers. Current Parent and Administrator participation is invitation-only.

ParentQA is not intended for children to use directly, and we do not knowingly solicit personal information directly from children through the ParentQA service.

When We Share Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information as reasonably necessary to provide and operate ParentQA, including with the participating school, service providers that support functions such as SMS delivery and data hosting, or when disclosure is required by law. For prospective parents, this may include sharing their name, email address, mobile number, grade-level information, and ParentQA conversation information with authorized admissions or enrollment staff at the school they identified. Mobile information and SMS opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Data Retention

We retain participant information, consent records, and conversation records for as long as reasonably necessary to operate ParentQA, support participating schools and users, maintain compliance records, resolve disputes, and satisfy applicable legal or business requirements.

Stopping SMS Messages

You may reply STOP to a ParentQA number from which you are receiving messages to opt out of ParentQA SMS messages. Replying STOP stops SMS messaging; it does not by itself constitute a request to delete previously collected information or conversation records.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information maintained through ParentQA. No electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
