About ParentQA

ParentQA is an SMS-based question-and-answer service that helps adult prospective parents communicate with current parents and authorized school administrators about participating K–12 schools.

ParentQA acts as the messaging intermediary for these school-specific conversations. ParentQA receives, records, and relays messages among the authorized participants in a conversation without disclosing participants' personal mobile numbers to one another.

Eligibility

ParentQA is intended for adults. Participants must be at least 18 years old and must provide accurate registration and contact information when using the service.

Participants may include prospective parents, current parents, and authorized school administrators or enrollment officers.

Current Parent and Administrator Invitations

Current Parent and Administrator participation is invitation-only. A secure ParentQA invitation identifies the applicable school and authorized participant role. Participants may not use the public registration process to represent themselves as a Current Parent or Administrator unless they have received an authorized invitation.

SMS Consent

Consent to receive ParentQA SMS messages is voluntary. Participants provide SMS consent through the ParentQA.com web form by affirmatively checking an SMS consent checkbox. The checkbox is not preselected.

Submitting registration information without checking the SMS consent box does not authorize ParentQA to begin an SMS conversation.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Participants may reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Participant Contact Information

ParentQA collects participant contact information including name, email address, and mobile number as part of the registration process. For prospective parents, this information may be provided to authorized admissions or enrollment personnel at the school identified by the prospective parent so the school can follow up regarding the family's interest.

Participant Conduct

Participants are responsible for the messages they submit through ParentQA and should communicate respectfully and lawfully. Participants may not use ParentQA to harass, threaten, impersonate others, transmit unlawful content, or interfere with operation of the service.

Current parents generally speak from their own experience and do not necessarily speak on behalf of the participating school. School administrators may provide official school-related information when participating in a conversation.

Message Records and School Visibility

ParentQA records messages and related conversation information as part of providing the service. Authorized administrators for a participating school may have access to participant information, conversation records, and transcripts associated with their school.

No Guarantee of Admission or Enrollment

ParentQA facilitates school-related conversations and information sharing. Participation in ParentQA does not guarantee admission, enrollment, financial aid, placement, or any other decision by a participating school.

Information Provided by Participants

ParentQA does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of statements made by individual participants. Current parents may describe their own experiences and opinions, which may differ from the experiences or views of other families or the school.

Service Availability

ParentQA may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the service when reasonably necessary for operational, technical, security, legal, or compliance reasons. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, K12 Assist LLC and ParentQA will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the service.

Privacy

Use of ParentQA is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how participant information and conversation records are collected, used, and shared.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as ParentQA changes or as reasonably necessary to address legal, operational, or messaging requirements. The current version will be published on ParentQA.com.
